As the proud owner of the 2010 Honda Odyssey, I am absolutely convinced that I made the right purchase for my family. The recent cash for clunkers initiative allowed me to trade in my 2000 Ford Windstar for the much more luxurious Odyssey. The easy stow and go seating is an absolute dream, allowing me to quickly and easily convert from a comfortable eight seater, perfect for carpooling, to a cavernous vehicle I can nip to the garden center and load up with soil and plants for my big landscaping projects to my hearts content! The DVD entertainment system, with cordless headphones and a handy remote control, takes the pain out of road trips and has brought peace and calm to our travels. As the kids while away the miles watching their favorite movies, I can plug in an mp3 player and listen to my favorite music or catch up on my favorite pod casts. The automatic door function is a really useful feature. On a hot day, as I approach the car, I can open the windows with one button, and vent the car. Fabulous on a scorching Wisconsin Summer day! The remote open and close features on the two sliding passenger doors, makes it easy for young kids to climb in on their own and has made school pick up a breeze. I wish I had this feature when I was lugging baby seats and all the trappings necessary for toddlers. The engine is incredibly quiet, the ride smooth and comfortable and the engine is remarkably sprightly for such a big vehicle. Parking and reversing is a snap, with the reversing camera that shows a really clear picture in the rear view mirror. The gray leather interior is fabulous, and much nicer than the rather tacky tan fabric option that just screams stains and dirt to me. A lot of attention has been paid to storage in the Odyssey. There are endless door pockets, floor compartments and beverage holders located throughout the vehicle. The trunk is particularly wonderful. Whereas some mini vans have an open floor pan, that allows cargo to roll throughout the vehicle, Honda have designed a great storage well, that contains all those wayward groceries and golf balls beautifully. The Odyssey is a fabulous vehicle. It is priced towards the higher end of the market, but it’s quality construction and flexibility makes it well worth the investment.
